Unpacking Your Relationship with Money 💰

The Renew Your Mind Podcast | Episode 19

In Episode 19 of the RYM Podcast, we’re helping you make sense of your own relationship with money. Use the prompts below to learn:

  • What you believe about money

  • How it’s affecting your business

  • What to do about it

Prompts ✍️

  1. What are the first 3 memories that come to mind when you think about an experience related to money in your life?

You can do more than 3 if you want, but start there. Think about background memories (remember, the way things just were growing up) and stand out memories (those vivid memories that stand out from the others that really made an impression).

  2. In one sentence, summarize the belief your brain formed about money in each of the 3 experiences.

In other words, what lesson did your brain take away from each experience you had. What was the conclusion you drew - consciously or unconsciously from each experience?

  3. How might that be showing up in your business today?

For your answers to #2, answer:

  • Is this true? Does it lead to peace? Does it feel liberating? Does this move me towards freedom and the beautiful vision of how we’re called to relate to money?

  • Or is it false? Does it lead to fear or anxiety? Does it feel restricting? Does it move me towards idolatry, towards worshiping money or being afraid of money?

  • If the belief you currently have isn’t true and isn’t aligned with Scripture, what new belief do you want to operate from? What’s an alternative? What would be a reframe?

For your answers to #3, answer:

What would be different if you embraced that alternative belief? What would change in how you did business?
