I had a golf swing evaluation earlier this week that blew my mind.
It was the first time anyone knowledgeable about the game analyzed my swing and gave me personal attention.
It was humbling (some aspects of my technique are pretty laughable 😂) but more so, it was really powerful.
I noticed POWERFUL parallels between the swing evaluation and what I do as a business coach.
There was so much benefit from paying someone with an outside perspective for dedicated time to:
▶️ Look at my technique objectively
▶️ Point out things I never knew I even did like bend my knees too much
▶️ Identify patterns that help me and ones that hurt my game
▶️ Make adjustments to improve my golf scoring
It hit me that this is EXACTLY how I help my clients:
▶️ We look at their thoughts and behaviors objectively - the facts
▶️ I point out things they say and think that they don’t even realize they’re doing
▶️ I help them understand how those patterns impact their results (hours worked, revenue, stress levels)
▶️ I help them make improvements to grow their revenue and increase their quality of life
🔥 The most striking thing I got from the evaluation was this:
The thing that frustrates me most about my golf game - the mistake I make that creates the worst result when I swing?
It was caused by something I literally had no idea I was doing. I was just too close to my swing to notice.
It wasn’t until an outside perspective with a trained eye pointed it out that I was able to make a change.
At the end of it, my instructor was confident that with a few adjustments, I would quickly reach my goals for scoring in golf.
